For this project, we had to pick a current issue in our world and use our knowledge from this years biology course to design a solution. My partner and I decided to go a little outside the box for our solution for world hunger. We focused on NASA's efforts of growing plants in space, and how we could use those findings to create a hypothetical satellite. This satellite would be following the Lada Garden experiments, and produce mass amounts of food for starving countries.
The above documents show our step by step process for this project, brainstorming our solution. The first step was to research three world problems and create basic solutions. The second step was to pick one of those world problems, and create three solutions. The third step was to create a plan for the project and solution, along with what research needs to be done. Step four was to conduct research and brainstorm the best way to build our product. The fifth step was to explain every aspect of our project and create a 3-D model. Our final step was to create a presentation that explained our product and convince investors to support our solution. Above, you can find all the details to our Lada Garden Satellite, what will be conducted inside, and how it will help our world and starving countries. |

Reflection
In this year, I will have to say that this project was my favorite. I was able to incorporate some of my interests (space and NASA) into a biology project to create a hypothetical way to help the world. One thing I believed that went well in this project was time management. With this project, we had multiple different steps with due dates, which I believe helped our management and work ethic. Going off of that, another aspect I believe I did well with this project was work ethic. My partner wasn't too helpful during this project, so I ended up doing most work and having to work hard during classes. One thing I could have worked on more was directed leadership. I had to tell my partner what to do, but they still struggled in completing their work. More directed leadership would have worked better in this case. Another thing I need to work on is attention to detail. In this project, I feel like we missed some key aspects of the presentation. All in all, this project was a great one to end the year with.
